Ovenu Torquay Review by Mr J, 2020-09-02T23:27:01
Company doesn't consider the pandemic A gentleman from this company visited my elderly & vulnerable parents property to clean their oven. Upon arriving and as with anyone visiting their house including friends, the man was asked to wash his hands which he declined saying he had already sanitised them in his vehicle. Following this, he set to work on the oven but was not wearing a mask. When challenged about this, in a perfectly polite manner, the man collected his tools and left saying only that they should find someone else to do the job. I do not understand what upset this man to this extent or why he was not even prepared to discuss the reason for not wearing a mask in a customers house but he was not interested. We certainly will not be using calling upon OvenU again in the future. Disappointing after having used them for many years.
Reply: Dear Mr Jones. We, as a Company, take this pandemic extremely seriously and therefore refute your allegation 100%. We also offer the following rebuttal to your sequence of events described having had correspondence from our Torquay area franchisee. Hands were indeed washed as requested using the soap to the RH side of your parent's sink and dried on the towel behind the door. The franchisee was unable to start any cleaning work as the oven was turned on - your father deciding to cook his breakfast. At this point our franchisee offered to reschedule the appointment and was subsequently quizzed in a zealous manner (certainly short of polite) by the lady of the house over the use of a face mask. Given the combination of circumstances our franchisee packed up and left to maintain his professional integrity that he has built locally over many years. We, in turn, commend him for doing so and would respectfully suggest that only accurate facts are put into the public domain in the future thus avoiding the possibility of besmirching a most excellent character.
